Mmm, nothing special to say, really... I've been on this sit or a long while, and it's super neat to see how much I've improved! Though, sometimes, looking at my old art, I have to cringe... Some of it's jut simply God-awful! Please don't look at it!
In fact, just stuff from my Freshmen year, in 2010-11, I feel like burning sometimes. But that makes me feel good, because it means I'm still making progress. My art isn't in a stand-still, and that's pretty cool to know, even if sometimes I can't draw the things I used to(because of my change in style).
Really, I wouldn't call what I do my own style. The way I draw currently is really just a large mix-match of years trying to draw fan art with the style of how the original artist drew the characters. The most thing that's affected by this are eyes. The way I draw eyes are constantly changing with each knew show/manga I become a super fan of(which comes in periods. There's a long stretch of time where something is my favorite, then another time of something different, and it keeps going on like that. Though, if I'm able to indulge in my fandom with someone else, it will keep it living longer, or even restart an older phase).
Another thing that has come from this behavior is how I draw side-faces. I used to be super awful at them, and they were the pose I avoided most. But thanks to Pandora Hearts, and how Jun draws her characters sideways(in silly mode), drawing side faces has actually become one of my favorite, and most used, positions(my first experiment with this version of side-face being 'Ride Ourselves of the Nuisance').
Then, of course, there's my animals. So many animals/Pokemon/etc. As many can probably tell, I favor drawing animals over people, at least with digital media, which is pretty much all I submit onto here, with lack of access to a scanner/tablet/more sophisticated art program than MS 7 Paint. When I joined PMD, I was still pretty bad at it, but with little time in the group, I got consistently better at drawing animals. I learned new ways to do faces, body styles, and so on. This experience is extremely valuable to me! I only wish I was diligent enough to keep up with the group... Doing missions really is fun, but I have a horrible problem with procrastination.
I guess that's all... I hope to continue gaining improvement! It really is so neat to see my art change on here... Especially if I have friends along for the journey!
